“The precious Palermo” a special exhibition at the Villa Igiea Hilton Hotel

Dall'11 al 13 Febbraio si è tenuta, presso la esclusiva cornice dell'Hotel Villa Igiea, la mostra per l'ornamento: “Palermo preziosa”.

All'evento, organizzato dalla Confindustria di Palermo in omaggio di Donna Franca Florio, hanno partecipato orafi, antiquari, stilisti ed artigiani del tessile ed è stata inoltre l'occasione di premiare donne siciliane che si sono particolarmente distinte nel campo dell'arte e dell'imprenditoria.

I riconoscimenti sono andati a Francesca di Carpinello per l'arte, Giusy Zalapì Benanti per l'impegno sociale, Iolanda Riolo e Natalia Ravidà Spatafora per l'imprenditoria.

La scelta del Villa Igiea Hotel come location per la mostra si collega alla storia stessa della Villa, appartenuta ai Florio e per anni luogo d'eccezione per gli incontri politici e mondani, in un tempo in cui Palermo fu un centro culturale ed economico di primo piano, a livello nazionale e internazionale.

From February the 11^th to February the 13^th, into the exclusive atmosphere of the Villa Igiea Hotel, the exhibition:”The precious Palermo” was held.

To the event, organized by the Confindustria of Palermo in honor of Donna Franca Florio, participated goldsmiths, antiquarians, stylists, and textile art-crafts and it was also an opportunity to reward Sicilian women distinguished in the field of art and in the field of the entrepreneurship.

The prizes went to Francesca di Carpinello for the art field, to Giusy Zalapì Benanti for the social involvement, to Iolanda Riolo and Natalia Ravidà Spatafora for the entrepreneurship.

The choice of the Villa Igiea Hotel as location for the exhibition is connected to the history of the Villa itself: it belonged to the Florio Family and it was an extraordinary place for political and social meetings, in a time when Palermo was a political and cultural centre, at national and international level.
